Abstract

ABSTRACT

The main problem of this study is the impaired balance of sitting and standing in children with cerebral palsy due to damage to the brain during the growth and development of children which is non-progressive and causes limited balance in sitting and standing. This type of research is an experimental one group pretest - posttest design. The research subjects were 33 cerebral palsy patients aged 1-8 years who met the research criteria. Sitting balance was measured using a sitting level of scale and standing balance was measured using a pediatric balance scale and then analyzed using a paired test. The p value for sitting balance was p = 0.001 and standing balance p = 0.023, which means that there is a significant before and after treatment with bobath exercises. Thus, it is concluded that bobath exercises are effective in improving the balance of sitting and standing in children with cerebral palsy.
