Kapsul Buah Golobe (Hornstedtia alliacea) untuk meningkatkan Kadar Leukosit dan Diferensial Leukosit pada Usia Lanjut

Abstract

The immune system will decrease as a person ages, especially those who are categorized as elderly, so they are very susceptible to various very dangerous diseases such as diseases caused by viruses, bacteria and so on. Increased white blood cell levels are caused by various diseases, one of which is Chronic Myeloid Leukemia (CML). One herbal supplement that is high in antioxidants and contains other compounds that can increase immunity in the elderly during the Covid-19 pandemic situation is Golobe (Hornstedtia alliacea) capsules. This study aimed to analyze the effectiveness of administering golobe fruit capsules to increase leukocyte levels and leukocyte differential in the elderly. This research implemented a one group pre test and post test design, involving 15 elderly people. Respondents were given golobe fruit capsules and leukocyte levels and leukocyte differential were measured before and after the intervention. Then the significance of the differences between the two measurement results was analyzed using the t-test. The results showed that the p-value for the difference in leukocyte levels between before and after administration of golobe fruit capsules was 0.000; and the same results were also obtained for the leukocyte differential variable. Thus, it could be concluded that golobe fruit capsules are effective in increasing leukocyte levels and leukocyte differential in the elderly.

ABSTRAK

Sistem imunitas akan mengalami penurunan seiring dengan bertambahnya usia seseorang, terutama untuk yang sudah dikategorikan sebagai lansia, sehingga sangat mudah terkena berbagai macam penyakit yang sangat berbahaya seperti penyakit yang disebabkan oleh virus, bakteri dan sebagainya. Meningkatkanya kadar sel darah putih disebabkan oleh berbagai macam penyakit salah satunya adalah penyakit Leukemia Mieloid Kronik (LMK). Salah satu suplemen herbal yang memiliki antioksidan tinggi dan memiliki senyawa senyawa lain yang bisa meningkatkan imunitas pada lansia pada situasi pandemi Covid-19 adalah kapsul Golobe (Hornstedtia alliacea). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis efektifitas pemberian kapsul buah golobe untuk meningkatkan kadar leukosit dan diferensial leukosit pada lansia. Penelitian ini menerapkan rancangan one group pre test and post test, yang melibatkan 15 lansia. Responden diberikan kapsul buah golobe dan dilakukan pengukuran kadar leukosit dan diferensial lekosit sebelum dan sesudah intervensi. Lalu dianalisis signifikansi perbedaan antara kedua hasil pengukuran tersebut menggunakan uji t. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa nilai p untuk perbedaan kadar leukosit antara sebelum dan sesudah pemberian kapsul buah golobe adalah 0,000; dan hasil yang sama juga didapatkan untuk variabel diferensial leukosit. Dengan demikian bisa disimpulkan bahwa kapsul buah golobe efektif untuk meningkatkan kadar leukosit dan diferensial leukosit pada lansia.
