Formulasi Sediaan Salep Ekstrak Etanol Daun Awar-Awar (Ficus septica Burm. F) dengan Variasi Basis Salep

Abstract


Awar-awar leaves were used as a sample in this study because they were found in Waipula Hamlet, Ureng Village, Central Maluku Regency, both on the side of the road, shrubs and open forest. People often use it topically as a medicine for wounds or inflammation of the skin. The purpose of this study was to determine the content of awar-awar leaves (Ficus septica Burm. F), formulate awar-awar leaf ethanol extract ointment using various ointment bases and evaluate the preparation of awar-awar leaf ethanol extract ointment. This research was conducted using an experimental method. The results of this study indicate that the ethanolic extract of awar-awar leaves) contains tannins, flavonoids, alkaloids and saponins. Furthermore, three formulations of ointment base were made, namely FI (hydrocarbon base), FII (absorption base) and FIII (water soluble base). Based on the evaluation test results, the three ointment bases namely FI (hydrocarbon base), FII (absorption base) and FIII (water soluble base) showed stable results in the organoleptic test and homogeneity test, while the pH test was unstable.

ABSTRAK

 

Daun awar-awar digunakan sebagai sampel dalam penelitian ini karena banyak ditemukan di Dusun Waipula Desa Ureng kabupaten Maluku Tengah, baik di tepi jalan, semak belukar maupun hutan terbuka. Masyarakat sering menggunakannya secara topikal sebagai obat luka atau radang pada kulit. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui kandungan daun awar-awar (Ficus septica Burm. F), memformulasikan salep ekstrak etanol daun awar-awar dengan menggunakan variasi basis salep dan melakukan evaluasi sediaan salep ekstrak etanol daun awar-awar. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode eksperimen. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak etanol daun awar-awar) mengandung senyawa tannin, flavonoid, alkaloid dan saponin. Selanjutnya dibuat tiga formulasi basis salep yaitu FI (basis hidrokarbon), FII (basis absorpsi) dan FIII (basis larut air). Berdasarkan hasil uji evaluasi, ketiga basis salep yaitu FI (basis hidrokarbon), FII (basis absorpsi) dan FIII (basis larut air) menunjukan hasil yang stabil pada uji organoleptik dan uji homogenitas,  sedangkan pada uji pH tidak stabil.
